Every Carnival Saturday there’s the Funkenbiwak at Cologne Neumarkt. All blue and red Funken are showing up and they serve 50.000 Litres of free-beers. It starts sharp 10:30 and lasts exactly for 3 hours. But we definitely need to meet up latest at 9:30 to get any close to the beer-stations. It goes like this: you’ll buy a special Kölsch-glas for 5,-€ and drink as much as you can while you’re watching all dancing and marching groups showing off.

After that we’ll most definitely stroll through the city. Costumes are mandatory.
